Are You Ready To Go?

Do Not Wait Another Minute!

Minutes Go By Awfully Fast!

Yume is a 1984 Irwin 41  (Hull # 44) and is ready for you to go anywhere you want to – today.

We can prove it as we have been continually moving in her for almost three years!

Originally, we loved her for the draft (4.5’) and the amazing live-aboard accommodations for three adults and planned full time cruising on the east coast and Bahamas. Plus we liked the way she looked with low freeboard, beautiful lines, and wide, clean decks.

Don’t you think she is a beautiful boat? :-)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Yume is the perfect cruising sailboat.  Whether you are tied to the dock, or at anchor watching the sun go down, or under reefed sails working your way to the next port of call, Yume answers every request.

The Perkins 64 hp motor pushes the boat 6 knots with just over a gallon an hour through almost any sea. Sails are easily handled with two, and one person easily sails with the genoa and mizzen. And she sails like a dream.

With only 4.5 foot draft, there are no worries about grounding (even all through the Florida Bay on the Keys! and Bahamas) but she stills goes to weather very well under sail. The prop and rudder are protected from damage by the keel design.

The new wind generator and solar panels keep the new 645 AH battery bank fully charged most of the time. We use the generator rarely (but it is awfully nice to have as a backup!). For hot water showers, the engine or the generator provides all we need. With 150 gallons of water you have to work at it to run out!

100 gallons of fuel provides for about a 500 mile range. With current fuel prices we move our home 60-70 miles a day for $25!

The new heavy Vulcan anchor, 180’ of new chain (+ 170′ 5/8 rode) and superior Lofrans Tigress anchor windless means the anchor sets where you want it, there is minimal swing to the wind and with the addition of the washdown system – picking up a clean anchor and chain is a breeze. There are two backup anchors with plenty of rode.

Why Are You Waiting?

This boat will not last long. There are many. many boats for sale, but very few that are ‘ready to go’. Most have been sitting at the dock for years while their owners tried to decide whether to sell or not. Or – worse – they have some defect like leaky tanks, or engine noise, or leaky decks that is going to cost them a fortune to fix – so they throw it on the market.

Yume is ready to go. We are selling as we are downsizing to another boat AND an RV. Our youngest son just moved of the boat and it is time to make some changes.

We have spent 3 years perfecting Yume for the cruising life and have very much enjoyed traveling from the Florida Keys to Chesapeake Bay and back – 3 TIMES! She travels very well!

If not now – then when? Contact us now. We can answer any questions you might have. If you need help making the break – we can help with that too. We have time to help you make a transition from where you are to loving the life you have dreamed about.

Don’t put it off any longer!

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Irwin 41 turns heads everywhere she goes. Sleek lines exemplify her greyhound spirit.

The masthead ketch rig is simple as well as functional and will move the 41 effortlessly in light summer breezes. Irwin uses only proven, time tested hardware that is strategically placed for easy handling. The deck is clean, uncluttered, and has plenty of room for sunning.

The amount of room in the 41 is stunning, a wonder in space planning. Many hours of thought and extreme care went into the aesthetics and finished design, and the result is a wonderfully comfortable yacht. The aft stateroom has a double berth, large teak-framed mirror, six drawers, cedar-trimmed locker, and five storage lockers. Forward is a large private V-berth with hanging locker, drawer bank, and two storage lockers. There are two full heads with hot water showers, teak-framed mirrors, and ample counter space. The aft head has a built-in clothes hamper and storage under the sole. The forward head has a private entrance from the V-berth and access from the salon.

The expansive, enclosed galley is a delight with built-in countertop dish lockers plus overhead cabinets. For convenience there is a deep, double stainless steel sink, and an LPG gimbaled stove with oven. For security in a seaway or inclement weather, Irwin includes a 62-horsepower 4-cylinder diesel engine with freshwater cooling. It will move the 41 quickly and securely across the water in all conditions.
